Favorite Places in SF
San Francisco is a beautiful city with views of rolling hills, Victorian houses, and glistening ocean. It’s also home to the slow food movement where organic, healthy food as well as decadent indulgences fill cute local eateries around town. Here is a list of my absolute favorite places in San Francisco. In general, I only blog about the food places that I love because mediocre things are not worth mentioning. Map here.
Blue Bottle. Need I say more? My loyalty belongs to the kiosk two blocks from my apartment. They specialize in single drip, artisan coffee. It’s an experience best taken to go and shared with good company in the nearby park.

Coffee Bar. Perfect place to work or read. Plenty of electrical outlets and it’s quite sunny too. Coffee is best sipped while typing on sleek Apple products.

Four Barrel. Delicious cappuccinos, but no wifi and always crowded. If you sit in the front, you might be able to get wifi from across the street. It’s industrial looking, and there’s a huge roasting apparatus in the back.

Samovar Tea Lounge. This is one of my favorite places in the world to drink tea and read a great book. There are gorgeous locations in the Mission, Hayes Valley, and Yerba Buena Park. Get the smokey and succulent lapsang souchong with milk and sugar.

Tartine Bakery and Cafe. Beware the long lines but once you get a lemon tart or a morning bun, you’ll be renewed and rejuvenated. Best eaten while sitting outside in the sun watching the hipsters go by.

Bi-Rite Creamery. Greatest salted caramel ice cream in the world. For best results, savor in nearby Dolores Park while people watching and basking in the sunlight.

Rickhouse. Delicious cocktails and cute suspenders on the waitresses. Plus some western flair, but watch out for the suits that ooze douche. Consider yourself warned.

15 Romolo. A classic North Beach bar hidden in an alleyway that boasts delicious artisan cocktails.

Hotel Biron. A wonderful hidden wine bar a block away from where I live.

Foreign Cinema. One of the best brunch places in the city as well as an awesome dinner spot complete with foreign films playing in the background for those wanting to get their culture on.

Red Door Cafe. My personal favorite brunch place in the city. The owner is fab and the food is delicious. The line is usually really long, but you will be thoroughly entertained as long as you don’t ooze Marina. More here.

Tataki. Sustainable sushi and also oh so delicious.
R&G Lounge. Some of the best Chinese food in the city. Try the Peking duck and the eggplant stuffed with tofu and shrimp.

Spices. If you like spicy food, you need to go here. For those who are feeling extra bold, this is one of the only places in the city that serves stinky tofu.

Burmese Kitchen. Ditch the long lines at Burma Superstar and go to the more affordable, less hyped alternative in the Tenderloin close to the public library. Try the tea leaf salad, eggplant, garlic noodles, and tamarind fish!

Beretta. This is one of my favorite well-rounded restaurants. It’s not too expensive, the wait is not too long, and they serve delicious drinks and Italian food. For sure try the pizza if you come here.
